Located in the heart of the Rhodope Mountains, Pamporovo is the southernmost ski resort in Europe with skiing traditions dating back to 1933. The region boasts a moderate Mediterranean climate, benefiting from year round tourism. The resort, the sunniest mountain resort in Bulgaria, is home to a sea of dark green hills during the summer and in winter a blanket of white snow. The high mountain peaks of Rhodope protect the slopes from wind thus maintaining excellent ski conditions throughout the season in Pamporovo, which stretches from December until May.
